I believe it’s time to set higher standards, and Ward 6 deserves a representative deeply rooted in our communities—someone committed to elevating our quality of life. I’m running to be your next Ward 6 Councillor because I believe in building a community where families thrive, young people have access to affordable housing, and seniors age with dignity.
Calgary has been my home for 46 years, and for the past 31, I’ve lived in Wildwood, where my husband Allan and I raised our two children. As a dedicated volunteer and longtime Wildwood Community Association director, I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges and opportunities that face our community.
My involvement with the Rotary Club of Calgary Fish Creek has a profound impact on my life. The Rotary motto, “Service Above Self,” has become the foundation of my leadership philosophy. I am committed to setting a higher standard of service, fostering fairness, honesty, integrity, and a collaborative spirit in everything I do. As a Rotarian, I have supported organizations like the RESET Society of Calgary, Calgary Food Bank, Distress Centre, and the Calgary Reads Annual Book Sale, witnessing the power of community service in action.
One of my greatest passions is music. The arts have played a lifelong role in my personal and professional journey—from my upbringing in a musical family to raising children who both pursued classical and traditional folk music, and through decades of volunteer and professional involvement with several arts and culture organizations such as the Calgary Fiddlers Association and Amici String Program.
My commitment to taking action and finding solutions has driven my involvement with federal and provincial political associations. Over the years, I’ve built a strong network of relationships that I can leverage to benefit Ward 6. Through my many rewarding volunteer experiences, I’ve learned the importance of listening closely, working diligently to deliver and being a strong voice and advocate.
Professionally, my career has spanned multiple sectors, including oil and gas, education, not-for-profits, arts and culture, and government. For the past 21 years, I have run my own administrative consulting business to help small businesses and non-profits in achieving their goals by providing expertise in operations management, fund development, government compliance, strategic planning, program management, stakeholder engagement, and budget oversight. These are the same skills I now bring to serve Ward 6.
Running a business has taught me the importance of honesty, self-motivation, discipline, and unwavering commitment to my clients. To truly succeed, it’s essential to build lasting relationships based on trust and results. The relationships I’ve formed over the years are what keep me going, and seeing my clients’ success puts a smile on my face.
Every morning, I’m grateful to start my day in Ward 6—a vibrant community filled with hardworking people striving for their dreams. I love connecting with my neighbours, hearing their stories, and respecting their diverse perspectives. I believe that together, we can find solutions to the challenges we face.
As your councillor, I will listen, act, and remain accountable. Together, we can create a brighter future for Ward 6. I am ready to serve, and I look forward to earning your trust and your vote.
